  • Exercise regularly. Not all exercises are recommended for mothers. Ideally, those that target the lower back are the ones that should be done. One is a pelvic tilt that aims to relieve the pain by lying on the floor on your back with knees bent. The goal is to flatten the back against the flat surface by using stomach muscles and the feet to push.

  • Proper bending posture. If you need to reach for something laying on the floor or somewhere that calls for you to bend, squat rather than bend at the waist. Also, try not to lift anything that requires you to exert extra effort. This will only put a strain on your back and contribute to the lingering lower back pain

  • Walk the walk. The proper way of walking can help relieve back pain. Remember how your posture is during pregnancy when you’re almost bending backwards? Your body needs time to adjust to the proper way of walking and that is what you need to do. With the shoulders put back and relaxed, you should be able to get your pre-pregnancy walk in no time.
