Looking for some new ways to help relieve that low back pain? 80% of people will suffer with low back pain at some point in their lives, which makes back pain one of the symptoms most complained about at the doctor. For some low back pain may go away after only a few weeks, but for the unlucky rest of us, low back pain may become chronic. Here are a couple of tips that offer relief.

Posture and Ergonomics
Make sure your workspace is ergonomically designed so that you are not forced to hunch over. You need a chair that helps support your lower back and keeps your feet on the floor. If you are stuck everyday in a position where you are hunched over, it is time to make a change. Sitting all day in the wrong position will cause pain.

Stretching
Gently stretch your hamstrings twice a day to help relieve the tight muscles that could be placing extra stress on your lower back. If you are stuck at a desk all day, take a few breaks each day for stretching.

Endorphins
Try things like massage, exercise, meditation, and acupuncture to help release endorphins. Endorphins can help block pain signals from registering with the brain, plus they can help you with stress and depression

Get Enough Sleep
Many people who suffer from chronic pain also suffer from insomnia. Making things worse, not getting enough sleep can make pain more frequent. Try cutting back on caffeine, getting your exercise, and trying some relaxation techniques to help promote sleep

Hot and cold therapy
Regular application of hot and cold packs and can reduce lower back pain and promote healing. Try a cold gel pack or a hot bath and start feeling some relief.
